👉 Why Disney’s Saratoga Springs is the Best Value DVC Resort — Our Honest Family Review

This was our third stay at the Disney’s Saratoga Springs. A gorgeous 2-bedroom villa and access to Disney Springs right on our doorstep. Oh, and we paid a fraction of what Disney’s rack rate would have been, all thanks to renting DVC points through David’s Vacation Club Rentals.

If you’re looking for the best value DVC resort at Walt Disney World — one that gives you spacious rooms, a relaxed atmosphere and easy access to shopping and dining without the premium price tag of resorts like the Grand Floridian — Saratoga Springs might just be your answer.

Why We Chose Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
Saratoga Springs doesn’t always get the attention of the more glamorous DVC resorts, and honestly? That works in your favour. It’s consistently one of the lowest point costs of any DVC resort at Walt Disney World, which means your dollar stretches further here than almost anywhere else.

The resort is inspired by the elegant spa town of Saratoga Springs, New York — think lush greenery, relaxed upscale vibes, and a beautiful lakeside setting. It’s located right next to Disney Springs, which for our family meant incredible convenience for dining, shopping and entertainment without needing to set foot in a theme park.

With three girls and a mid-December visit, having Disney Springs a short walk away was absolutely magical — Christmas decorations everywhere, world-class restaurants, and the girls could browse the Disney store to their hearts’ content.

How We Booked It Using DVC Points
We booked through David’s Vacation Club Rentals — the same trusted broker we’ve used for other stays. The process was smooth and straightforward:

Searched David’s website early in the year for available dates at Saratoga Springs in mid December
Selected a 2-bedroom villa for our family
Paid securely through David’s platform
Reservation appeared in My Disney Experience within 24 hours
Checked in just like any regular Disney resort guest
One thing I love about Saratoga Springs specifically — because it’s one of the larger DVC resorts with more rooms, availability tends to be better here than at smaller, more in-demand resorts like Beach Club or Grand Floridian. If you’re flexible on resort but want a great experience, Saratoga is often easier to secure.

What the 2-Bedroom Villa Was Like
I’ll say it again — I am always blown away by how spacious DVC villas are compared to standard Disney hotel rooms.

The 2-bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs sleeps up to 8 guests and comes with a full kitchen, a large living and dining area, two full bathrooms, in-room laundry, and a master bedroom with a king bed and ensuite. For a family trip, it genuinely feels more like renting a beautiful holiday apartment than staying in a hotel.

The theming is elegant and understated — rich greens, warm wood tones, and subtle horse racing and spa references that nod to the New York inspiration. It feels refined and peaceful, which made it the perfect base for our mid-December trip.

And the full kitchen? We used it every single morning. Grocery delivery through Instacart the night before we arrived meant we had breakfast sorted for the whole trip — saving us hundreds of dollars we happily spent on Disney Springs dinners instead.

Disney Springs Access — A Game Changer
I want to give this its own section because it genuinely surprised me how much we used it.

Saratoga Springs is the only DVC resort with direct walking access to Disney Springs — and in mid December, that meant stepping out of our villa and into one of the most beautifully decorated areas at Walt Disney World. Christmas trees, lights, live entertainment, an incredible range of restaurants and the buzz of the holiday season everywhere.

We spent two full evenings at Disney Springs during our stay — no park tickets required, no bus to catch, just a short walk from our front door. For families who want the Disney magic without spending every day in the parks, this location is genuinely unbeatable.

Mid December — Why It’s One of Our Favourite Times to Visit
We’ve visited Walt Disney World at different times of year, and mid December holds a very special place in our hearts. Here’s why:

Christmas decorations are in full swing — every resort, every park, every corner of Disney Springs is dressed beautifully for the season
Crowds are still manageable — it gets busy from around the 20th, but mid December before the school holiday rush is genuinely enjoyable
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — if you can get tickets, this special after-hours event is absolutely worth it for families
EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays — incredible food booths, the Candlelight Processional and a magical atmosphere
Perfect weather — warm, sunny days without the intense summer heat and humidity
The Savings — Let’s Talk Numbers
Here’s where Saratoga Springs really shines — it’s one of the best value DVC resorts for families, and the point costs reflect that.

A 2-bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs booked directly through Disney in mid December can run $700–$900 per night. For a 5-night stay that’s $3,500–$4,500.

Through David’s Vacation Club Rentals using DVC points, we paid significantly less — Saratoga Springs requires fewer points per night than most other deluxe resorts, making the savings here even more dramatic.

That difference is real money — money our family put toward park tickets, dining experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

My Honest Verdict on Saratoga Springs
Saratoga Springs is the resort I recommend most often to families who are new to renting DVC points — and here’s why.

It offers the full DVC villa experience (spacious rooms, full kitchen, laundry, beautiful resort facilities) at a lower point cost than almost any other Walt Disney World DVC property. The Disney Springs location adds incredible value. And the relaxed, elegant atmosphere makes it feel like a genuine retreat rather than just a place to sleep between park days.

Is it as close to the parks as Beach Club or as iconic as the Grand Floridian? No. But for families who want space, value, and the freedom to enjoy Disney at their own pace — Saratoga Springs is hard to beat.
